Efficient Stump Removal Services in Sonoma County
You probably need a stump grinding service if you’ve had a tree removed.
Stump removal starts with cutting down the tree or stump to the lowest possible point and then using a tree stump grinder machine to chip the wood.
Our grinder machines allow us to go 6”-8″ below the surface of the ground, so we can remove the stump without causing damage to the surrounding area. Chips from the tree and stump grinding can then be spread around as mulch or hauled away, depending on the customer’s preference.
Stump grinding is an efficient and environmentally friendly method of removing tree stumps. This process is safe and fast, and makes it easier to mow or landscape the area where the stump was.
What is Stump Grinding?
Our stump grinding service utilizes a machine a little bigger than a large lawn mower. We bring it to the stump mounted on rubber tracks, which minimizes damage to your lawn. The tree stump grinder has a wheel with sharp teeth that grind the stump into fine mulch.
Typically when we leave, the mulch from the stump is raked back into the hole where the stump was—leaving a small bed of mulch.
Note: Extra charges may apply to large diameter stumps not cut low to ground prior to arrival. Slater’s is not responsible for damage to unmarked underground utilities (e.g. water lines or PG&E).
We are happy to call in a locate request for public underground utilities. Customers are responsible for marking water lines or sprinklers, if applicable, as they are not covered by the utilities protection center.
